Unexpected injury – This key player will be absent for the upcoming matches. Carelessness leads to disaster
The Dallas Cowboys released its Wednesday injury report, updating the statuses of several key players ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, including Micah Parsons and Jordan Phillips.
The Dallas Cowboys opened the 21-day practice window for veteran defensive tackle Phillips on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Phillips was placed on injured reserve after the 31-year-old sustained the wrist injury in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. His status was officially updated on the Cowboys’ Wednesday injury report.
Meanwhile, Parsons, the Cowboys’ star DE, has been sidelined with a high-ankle sprain since Week 4 — but it remains to be seen if he’ll be available in Week 8.
View the entire injury report below:
K Brandon Aubrey – NIR-Other (jury duty) – DNP
CB DaRon Bland – Foot – DNP
CB Caelen Carson – Shoulder – Full
WR Ryan Flournoy – Ankle – Limited
LB Eric Kendricks – Shoulder – Limited
LB Marist Liufau – Shoulder – Full
DE Micah Parsons – Ankle – DNP
DT Jordan Phillips – Wrist – Full

Notably, Parsons and defensive back DaRon Bland did not participate in on-field activities for Dallas on Wednesday. Kicker Brandon Aubrey was not a participant at practice, either, as he was serving jury duty.
For Phillips, he’s back on the field for the first time since his injury early this season. He’ll look to stay healthy, as Phillips, then with the Buffalo Bills (2-0), underwent surgery in 2023 after suffering a dislocated right wrist in Week 15, ironically against the Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys are 3-3 heading into Week 8’s Sunday Night Football matchup, and their opponents are dealing with a handful of injuries themselves. Of course, star running back Christan McCaffrey’s status are still up in the air.
McCaffrey, 28, has been on injured reserve since the beginning of the season, sidelined with an Achilles injury which first popped up during training camp. He did not play in the preseason, however, the 49ers were initially optimistic he would be available for Week 1. Now, his 2024 debut appears to be coming in November at the earliest.
