Sienna reels as Hollyoaks confirms aftermath of Ethan’s tragic death – and fingers are pointed
Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) will face some serious questions from the police in Hollyoaks as the aftermath of Ethan Williams’ (Matthew James Bailey) death is revealed.
Ethan fell to his death on Monday (October 7) just hours after tying the knot with love of his life Sienna in a plot development which left fans absolutely reeling.
The circumstances which led to his demise remain shrouded in mystery, though speculation has already commenced, with the leading theory being that someone pushed him.
Despite having a row with her husband over a secret abortion Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) had at Christmas, Sienna was absolutely heartbroken to find her soulmate dead on the roof of their wedding car.
But given that she was the last person to see him alive – or at least the last person that we know of – she is hauled in for questioning by the police on Tuesday (October 8).
First look images reveal the scenes in question as an utterly distraught Sienna is quizzed by detectives, who are determined to find out what – or who – is to blame for beloved Ethan’s tragic death.
Will Sienna find herself in trouble with the law? Will she become prime suspect? Or can she prove her innocence?
Though her and Ethan didn’t exactly part on good terms, it seems unlikely that she would be capable of murdering the love of her life, especially since her reaction to his body on top of the car appeared to be genuine heartbreak.
This begs the question of who else it could be.
Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), meanwhile, mourns the loss of her uncle but she soon uncovers video footage which appears to indicate that there was trouble in paradise for Sienna and Ethan during the ‘missing’ year.
Elsewhere, Vicky has some explaining to do.
Ethan was written out of Hollyoaks during the episode in question, with actor Matthew James Bailey confirming to Metro that he was one of the casualties of the cast cutbacks.
‘I’m absolutely devastated to be leaving the show,’ he told me. ‘I’ve made it clear that this is my home and I never thought it would end the way that it did.
‘I feel like Ethan had a lot more potential and growth in him.
‘I would openly say when I thought it was time for him to step away but, to be honest, I don’t think it was the right time. I don’t think we were finished. So no, it wasn’t my choice. I would never walk away from the show.’
