Hollyoaks confirms very unexpected ally for Sienna in Ethan murder story
Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) receives a visit from Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) and Donny (Louis Emerick) in Hollyoaks next week as the investigation into Ethan Williams’ (Matthew James Bailey) murder continues.
Ethan, as viewers know, met a tragic demise last week on the day that he made his dream come true, wedding the love of his life in Sienna.
Things took a devastating turn after the vows were exchanged, with Ethan plummeting to his death from the balcony of the bridal suite.
Sienna was subsequently arrested for the murder but she is adamant that she did not commit the crime, reiterating to everyone that Ethan was her soulmate and thus she could never.
Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) isn’t so sure of her innocence, with a number of Sienna’s loved ones displaying similar doubts – but it seems not all hope is lost as, next week, things take quite a turn.
Believing that Vicky had something to do with her beloved beau’s demise, Sienna demands an audience with her. Donny, meanwhile, returns home and is confused to find out that Vicky is back with Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) and, honestly, same.
Vicky comes clean, revealing to her dad what she did on Ethan’s wedding day.
The following day, she and Donny both pay Sienna a visit. Sienna surprises the pair of them when she starts asking questions, wondering if Ethan was struggling after Dave (Dominic Power) died.
Vicky offers support to Sienna and, shockingly, reveals that she doesn’t believe Sienna is to blame.
A mighty turnaround if there was ever one, given the way she spoke to Sienna shortly after Ethan’s death.
The question is: what has sparked this sudden alliance? Why are Sienna and Vicky on the same page? Is there more at play here? And can they find out who really killed poor Ethan?
Ethan’s final appearance came in flashbacks last week. Fans were devastated by his exit, with star Matthew James Bailey confirming to Metro that he was a casualty of the cast cuts.
‘I’m absolutely devastated to be leaving the show,’ he said. ‘I’ve made it clear that this is my home and I never thought it would end the way that it did. I feel like Ethan had a lot more potential and growth in him.
‘I would openly say when I thought it was time for him to step away but, to be honest, I don’t think it was the right time. I don’t think we were finished. So no, it wasn’t my choice. I would never walk away from the show.’
