Contestants On The Bachelorette Don’t Earn A Dime
Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor came to an end earlier this year. Joey wound up engaged to Kelsey Anderson and the couple has continued to go strong since then. The newest season of The Bachelorette kicked off on July 8, with a new season of The Golden Bachelorette set to make its debut this fall.
Of course, because they are appearing on television, the contestants receive compensation for their participation in the dating reality series. Because filming can last for more than a month in some cases, it is possible that contestants might have to leave their jobs or, at the very least, take an extended leave to participate. When it comes to how much each person makes, it varies.
Before we dive into how much the stars make, it should be noted that contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are not paid for their participation. Actually, they receive very few perks for appearing on the show. For instance, they have to bring their own clothing and do their own hair and makeup.
The star of the show, Joey Graziadei in the latest season of The Bachelor, and Jenn Tran in the current season of The Bachelorette, makes about $100,000. This fee covers their time filming. They typically land other endorsement deals and promotional gigs following their involvement with ABC too. Unlike contestants, the star of the reality TV show also gets the benefit of having their own stylist and glam team on staff.

Bachelor In Paradise Contestants Earn A Daily Fee
Now, this isn’t the case for every show in the franchise. Contestants on Bachelor in Paradise, for example, are paid $400 per day. This is negotiable and is typically calculated per day of filming, per episode, or a flat rate fee.
The amount each person earns for their part in BIP depends on how long they appear on the show. Prior involvement in the franchise is also considered. Individuals with lead experience, such as Rachel Recchia, could potentially negotiate a higher pay rate for themselves.
Dean Unglert was able to negotiate $600 per day for his appearance in Bachelor in Paradise. Overall, that could have made him $18,000 if he stayed the full 30 days. So, the contracts for the individuals who are paid to be involved with The Bachelor franchise are flexible.
That being said, the actual contestants on The Bachelorette don’t make a dime. While their time on the show could lead to other deals, they aren’t compensated for their time when they initially film.
