The Bachelor has featured leads who have been part of the franchise in the past for years, but this Bachelorette contestant revealed that he’s been asked to become The Bachelor five times, though he hasn’t accepted yet. While The Bachelor and The Bachelorette typically find their lead from the season directly preceding it, both shows have gone off-script in the past and asked former contestants to lead their own journey to find love, bringing back Bachelor Nation favorites years after their initial appearances. The Bachelor has even had a lead repeat their journey in the hopes to get things right.

The Bachelorette season 15 runner-up Tyler Cameron shared that he’s been asked to be The Bachelor quite a few times since his run on the show. “Be honest, roughly how many times has ABC asked you to be The Bachelor,” Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen asked, reading out a viewer’s question for Tyler while he was a guest on the show. “Probably like four times – four or five times,” Tyler answered, much to Andy’s shock.

Should Tyler Cameron Be The Bachelor Lead?

While Tyler has been away from the franchise for years, he would still be a fascinating lead for The BachelorAs someone who has been through the process on the other side and come out unsuccessful, Tyler would have a sense of empathy for the women he was dating on the show, which is something they typically look for in the lead of the series. At the same time, he’s spent some time away from the series through the years and gone through some major life changes, including losing his mother tragically and suddenly, since his time on the show.

Tyler would be coming into the leading role from an entirely new perspective, which could mean he’d make an amazing lead for The Bachelor. Though Tyler would likely make a good lead, that doesn’t necessarily mean he should consider the job. One of the biggest necessities in a Bachelor lead is that they want the role, and are interested in finding someone they want to build a future with. While it’s likely that Tyler wants to find someone to connect with in his life, it may not be the right time for him to settle down with someone new.

For Tyler, who was reportedly in the running to become The Bachelor immediately after Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette but lost out to Pilot Peter Weber, becoming The Bachelor may not have the appeal it once did. Though he’s still present on reality TV and continues to post online as an Influencer, Tyler’s image may not work well with the style of TV on The Bachelor. Though he may not be interested in becoming The Bachelor anytime soon, there are still many who will hold out hope for the future.
